InnovateX HQ operates the platform at ix.flukebase.me. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information. We do not sell your data to third parties.
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account or use InnovateX HQ, we may collect:
- Account information — name, email address, password (stored as a bcrypt hash), user type (founder, mentor, VC), city, country, and phone number
- Profile information — bio, experience, startup/company name, domain, social media links (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, GitHub, YouTube, TikTok)
- Uploaded content — profile photos, banner images, and post images
- Usage data — event registrations, connections, match preferences, community posts and comments
- Device data — browser type, timezone (for onboarding), and IP-based country detection
2. How We Store Your Data
- Database — User accounts and platform content are stored in a PostgreSQL database on Tier 2 shared infrastructure.
- Cloud storage — Uploaded images (avatars, banners, post images) are stored on IDrive E2 cloud object storage.
- Session data — Authentication sessions are stored server-side with HMAC-signed cookies.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and personalize the platform (matching, events, community feed)
- Send transactional emails (password resets, event confirmations, chat notifications)
- Send newsletters and platform announcements (only if you opt in)
- Improve the platform based on usage patterns
- Prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

5. Your Rights
- Access — your profile is visible to you at /profile
- Correct — edit your profile, bio, and social links at any time
- Delete — contact us at hello@ix.flukebase.me to request account deletion
- Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from newsletters via the link in any email
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your data from our systems within 30 days. Anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics.
7. Security
We use HTTPS encryption for all connections, HMAC-signed session cookies, server-side input validation, and Content Security Policy headers. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt before storage and never stored in plain text.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
